Why Silk?
Luxurious silk bedding and clothing reigns supreme as the most versatile, breathable, durable, and exquisitely comfortable fiber known to the world. Its a natural insulator. And silk also possesses the unique ability to draw moisture away from your skin.
Silk is hypoallergenic. Many bedding materials cotton, goose down and synthetic blends catch the air particles, dust, etc. that contribute to many peoples allergic conditions. Not silk.
Silk is strong. With a superior tensile strength, silk can take a lot of pulling pressure, even from active children. Its stronger than cotton or fine wool. Silk is at it's weakest when wet so proper care in washing is important.
Silk is inherently flame-retardant. When exposed to a flame, pure silk will burn with an unpleasant odor, but the fiber will quickly turn to ash. Remove the flame and the silk will stop burning.
Silk is easy to maintain. Hand washing in mild soap and occasionally white vinegar help preserves silks luster for years.
Silk "breathes". While silk bedding suggests tropical relaxation
because it is cool in warm weather, in winter it keeps you warm, without itching.
